my banwatcher thread got locked and idrk why so i thought i would start a new thread here and it can be more general this time we will talk about all the moderation we notice

I will start you all off with some tasty things i have noticed happen recently

-door received a soft warning for double posting in the steven universe thread (link)

i talked to door about it and door started a forum in response idrk why. For background, door double posts a lot and double posting is one of the things that the recent OTR reform covered. I suspect this is some action from the moderators to encourage users to get into a more acceptable posting manner.

-rubik's bear of the week thread was locked (link)

for some background rubik made a contest and said the 3 winners would be nominated for card of the week, but his nominations were rejected as they were reprints of grizzly bears which was determined to be designed by another person (wotc). Rubik said that was okay and made the bear of the week thread in response. Febb took the fight to gobo laz and rubik seems a little disgruntled too i can't report too much on that but maybe they can swing by and give us the buzz.

Don't really know why you want to bother tracking this kind of thing, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

moderation tracking is the latest fad

its totally hip

I think there's a fine line between what is appropriate moderation activity/discussions for the public to be aware of and what activity it shouldn't be aware of.

@febb: idk if this is the place to discuss it but i am probably fine with any amount of transparency, understanding that moderator discretion becomes more powerful as there is less transparency in moderator actions

user popular pariah has been banned for one week for making a post saying edgy things about people disapproving of rape. The post is morally bankrupt so I won't post it here but if you'd like a copy PM me
and I'll tell you what he said

edit: i talked to him a bit and got the scoop. he was apparently upset at the attitude people held towards zach, a magic player who was banned for committing rape sometime in his past. I guess he made a snarky post while trying to defend zach/attack the people attacking zach but it backfired on him.
