I agree that your naming and wording conventions are an improvement


With this land I tried to cross Gemstone Mine with Tendo Ice Bridge


Gemstone Shaft
Land
~ enters the battlefield with two mining counters on it.
:t:, Pay 2 life: Add :c:.
:t:, Remove a mining counter from ~: Add one mana of any color.

I might make the Minotaur add +1/+1 counters instead.
The other option might look something like this:

Questing Minotaur -
Creature - Minotaur Scout | U
Trample
Whenever an opponent plays a land, put a quest counter on Questing Minotaur.
Questing Minotaur gets +1/+0 for each quest counter on it.

The biggest challenge involves punishing your opponent for hitting their land drops as well as relying on your opponent to gain value.

I didn't want to make the bonus permanent because I thought that opponents would be more likely to hold their lands back


Jar of Angels - :4:

If you crack this the turn you draw it you get fewer angels. Might still be worth it sometimes.


Destruction Matters - :4::r:
Enchantment
When ~ enters the battlefield, destroy target artifact or land.
Whenever a permanent an opponent controls is put into a graveyard, ~ deals 1 damage to that player.


Hunted Tortoise - :1::g:
Creature - Turtle
When ~ enters the battlefield, target opponent creates a 1/1 red Goblin creature token.

:r:: ~ gets +1/+0 until end of turn. Activate only if ~'s power is 2 or greater.
