The Rules

How To Nominate:
Quote the post with the card you want to nominate. Delete everything in that post other than the card. Copy and paste your quote into a post on this thread.
If you did it right the quote tag should link to the original post.

What's Eligible?
Any fan-designed M:TG card posted since the most recent CotW thread went live is eligible. It doesn't even have to be the first time the card was posted. Yes, Un cards are valid. No, Yugioh cards are not.

What's Not Eligible?
  • Nominating your own cards. You can only nominate cards by other people
  • Nominating a card from your own repost, regardless of whether or not the original post was yours.
  • Nominations that result from collusion. If a nomination is made in exchange for some sort of favour, or under some sort of threat, then the nomination is void.
  • Cards that have already won CotW are not eligible for future CotWs.
  • Nominations that I consider to be jokes or trolling.

A Note On Contests:
Many contest holders feel that having an entrant nominated for CotW will skew the results of their contest. To prevent this while still allowing those cards their chance at nomination, any card submitted to a contest is eligible for nomination to CotW as though the date the contest (or pertinent round of the contest) ended was the date the card was posted.

Is Victorious General an additive effect, a replacement effect, or an optional effect?

I'd say additive as they gain the ability. Instead would be replacement and may would be optional.

General probably should've just been "Whenever you place a Lore Counter on a Saga, create..."

It was meant to be additive, and I agree with Curious.

Target creature you control gain flying until end of turn. If you spent no mana to cast Leapfrog, that creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.

This card is next-level adorable.

Has anyone ever actually tried leapfrog? It has that whole 'wholesome' upbringing feel to it, like soapbox racers and running along beside a hula hoop with a stick. After reading that card, the kids asked me what leapfrog was so we went outside to give it a try. It took forever for them to build up the courage to actually try it, and when they did, the potential for injury was a valid concern. It was a lot of clumsy half tries before we came even close to getting it going . Everyone has to be the same size for it to work right. So we played tag instead, and then D+D. Many orcs died.

I'm not sure if I ever played(?) er, did(?) leapfrog. I might have done it a few times. Not really sure. Seems like you'd need a fair number of people to make it worthwhile. I think it would be more fun if you got to do a continuous series of jumps.
I have no idea if people ever actually did it. Much like soapbox racers. I'm pretty sure the hoop with a stick thing was an actual fad for a time. Probably it was a perennial pastime that popped up every few generations for centuries.
