I want 5 Taysirs. One for each color. Hopefully they all combine somehow. Would 6 Taysirs be too much to demand?

2 Taysirs with the Meld function is all you could hope for
Because at least 2 of the five Taysirs were unprintable.
Farmhand Taysir and Baby Taysir would both be useless wastes of cardboard.
There were only really 2 active Taysirs to begin with anyway.

Getting the two 'main' Taysirs as creatures would be cool. But can we please just have a 'normal' Taysir planeswalker without shenanigans? :doh:

I've never liked Meld, and the same is true for creatures that transform into 'walkers. Sacrificing the two creature Taysirs and putting a Taysir planeswalker into play from anywhere would be a nice little treat, though. They could just spread out one line of flavour text among the two and have it be "We..." / "...are Taysir!" :V

My list of (legendary creature) characters who don't have card I wanna see (who aren't like 2 years old);

-Hal and Alena, hopefully as parter with.

-The remains Paruns- Svogthir, Cisarzim, Mat'Selesnya, "Simic" (most them so we can learn who they actually where) and possible the original version of the Obzedat.

-The Ixalan Bat-God (if its real and not a half-forgotten memory of Azor and/or Elenda)

"Do over" or second versions of legendary creatures;

-The Bolas Gods before corruption

-A more flavorful Mishra

-While giving Marit Lage a card would be fun, I'd wanna wait for a full on set to see it, but would love a cleric of Marit Lage or something that you can use to make the 20/20 token.

For PWs;
Bo Levar, Kristina and Taysir is really the only old walkers left without a card I liked and would be a fail not to have Taysir being the first 5 color walker. I could maybe also see another Venser or maybe other walkers who only gotten a single cards who died. Could also see Urza in mono-blue since pw cards can now be flavored as showing snapshots or only aspects of a pw at a given moment. If we end up with a cycle my guess;

W- Hard to say now Serra is carded, no old walker screams mono-white
U- Urza, Venser, Bo?
B- Tevesh Szat or Leshrac
R- Jeska
G- Kristina
WUBRG- Teysir

For what it's worth, the Simic Parun was a vedalken called... Simic. Not very creative, but it's all we have. But yeah, getting all of the Paruns would be nice. I really dislike how they handled pretty much everything concerning Azor and the Immortal Sun on Ixalan, but I guess we shouldn't be in for any nasty surprises if they just printed the rest of the gang as cards and called it a day. (God, I hope they don't waste any space on an actual Azor planeswalker...)

There is actually a realistic chance for something like that to happen. Someone at WotC said after Modern Horizons that, now that they've created this pattern with both a land and an enchantment creating a Marit Lage token, they might be more likely to cycle through other cardtypes that make that token than printing an actual Marit Lage card. So yeah, this could become a mega-cycle of sorts. I'd really dig it.

Altair of Coloni from the old Armada comics is explicitly mono-white. Personally, I've always imagined Manatarqua from the Planeswalker novel as kinda mono-white, too, but Altair has the advantage of looking like a normal dude rather than a pavilion, so let's go with him...

Thats what I was referring, learning more than its a vedalken name simic who might still have body part floating around in the guild (if they didn't die with the guild until the merfolk revived it during RtR). Thought there is a good chance this might be "retconned" since as far as I know it was all Cory J. Herndon idea he had when making the book and not sure if it was ever backed up by wizards nor in the text of official stuff, thought both the art book and DnD ravnica book say none of the parun where human by the time the guildpact was signed so it still leaves "Simic" possible as a vedalken.

I wouldn't mind seeing Azor as a pw, thought not here, maybe in a flashback Ravnica set around the time of the guildpact being made.

Might also be a fun away to do another form of comics horror that plays different from the eldrzi where we never get her card, just the avatar token of people/events/items that will free her and thus we never get to know what she is.

Thanks for the pointing out!

I also was reminded of Ravi, we need another green/black pw now Garruk is mono-green and she could still be alive, thought its more like we'd see her as pw in her prime....sorry if this goes some off topic but a big blaming inter-planar beacon that pulls in pw might have an effect on her, even more so if she had ever met Bolas.

Oh and I like your idea about pw commanders as partnering with each other though I think we likely see it like Will and Rowan did with normal "partner with" mostly as this is suppose to be draft able and partner with lets the card work both as commanders, in your draft pool as semi-tutors and can be on other non-legendaries creatures.

Fair enough, though I doubt we'd learn anything new about any of them except what would be shown on the card. I could be completely wrong, but Commander Legends doesn't seem like the kind of product that comes with a lot of info.

Agreed, I think that would work really well as a different take on the same trope. Plus, I like the feeling of uncertainty and looming dread it would create if we had a number of cards around that could potentially free Marit Lage, without any of them necessarily doing it in the story. That would feel a lot closer to Lovecraft's works.

Unfortunately, we still have Vraska around (I don't care what Twitter says, Alison Luhrs's take on the character has ruined Vraska for me, and her love affair with Jace is absolutely ludicrous)... But yeah, I'd love to see Ravi in Commander Legends. I think we'd be a million times more likely to get a younger Ravi from the past, though, because giving us a current version in this set would tie them down creatively. Technically, it's not even clear if she's still a 'walker, even if she's alive (I've compiled some obscure pieces of info on that in my thread about Ulgrotha further down on this forum page, and I've tried to untangle the continuity of some of the random glimpses of Ulgrotha we got since Homelands, if you're interested in that sort of thing). To veer into the same off-topic direction a little bit, I'm actually super happy there were no sudden appearances of random old school planeswalkers in War of the Spark, I really would have hated to see them in that context - heck, some of them might have died! There are a ton of classic 'walkers I want to come back for real (Ravi, Dakkon, Jared, Sandruu...), but I think there is a time and a place for that, and I'd want them to get some room to shine. If I'm being completely honest, I'm almost too afraid to clamour for cool things from the old school era to be revisited, considering how that turned out for the Elder Dragons... :cry:

I'd be fine with a short little burb (like what we got for the "story on the cards" or commander deck bios) and to lock in if they are a vedalken and like... a real name lol.

I wouldn't say Azor was justified in the slightest. We do see that his interventions caused more harm than good whenever they happened, and he is established as egocentric enough to have statues of himself built. The only stable system he created was Ravnica and even then when its de facto government allows for both murder crazy psychos and fascists to have their role in the world essentially etched into the fabric of society then its clear that his solutions are simply not good.

His self-sacrifice can be seen as noble but considering the sheer amount of disdain he has for people over what he thinks is perfection is what makes him a good deconstruction of the "altruist" colonial mindset.

I never payed any attention to the Ixalan story line. Reading that post convinced me I made the right call.
Somebody in WOTC just can't abide flawed characters, can they? Between Vraska, Sorin the white (formerly Sorin the black) and Nissa "elvish supremacist turned reformed-elvish-supremacist turned pointedly-never-an-elvish-supremacist" Revane, I see a trend.

Ambiguity? But what if someone thinks they're a bad guy!? Nope, focus groups tell us that bad guys are bad, so they can't be heroes because heroes make money so we like them.

...Mind, I'm more taking pot shots at corporate culture than WOTC here.

Yeah, I'd like to point out that the big push toward unambiguously good characters happened after WotC was bought out by Hasbro, and I don't think that's a coincidence.

Hasbro bought out WotC in 1999... That could correspond to affecting how bad Odyssey/Onslaught was storywise, but I'd argue that the best thing about the flavor of the time was the nuance in the idea of Otaria's characters. The execution failed, but the concepts of the characters like Ixidor or Chainer were quite gray.

They did it to cash on the Pokemon cards. Pretty sure that side of the business was spun off or bought out long ago, but Hasbro still owns our dungeon of dragons and the magical cards.

I think I'll just drop a reminder that getting a card for Greensleeves in a product like this would make me extremely happy. :)

I terms of mana colours, I think making the card itself :g: but with a WUBRG colour identity would feel about right. If the ability of Jodah, Archmage Eternal was't already taken, it would have been a great fit for Greensleeves, too. But I guess some sort of ramp or creature support could also work.

To be completely frank, I really hope Jeska is the only planeswalker we see.
Or at least the only new card for one.

It's just a feeling I've had for a while but never got a chance to say.

When it comes down to it, I more or less don't like to see them putting a lot of effort into creating things like planeswalkers for tertiary products that are more limited in print runs.
The reason being that planeswalkers take a LOT of design space, but also because if they shove someone like Jeska up front to be the face, it undercuts any other walker they design for the product by putting them behind another character.
