The trifecta is complete! Although really Vraska's more of a flavour nut than a Johnny. Johnny playstyle but primarily motivated by the story-telling aspects of her murder games. Kind of a dark thought.
I guess Tibalt is a Timmy too?

Tibalt is a little spike too. Ironic since his card sucks so bad.

MaRo keeps insisting that Vorthos isn't a psychograph, but it is. He keeps attributing Vorthos characteristics to Johnny mindsets when it comes to deckbuilding. Something about artificial limits. I dunno, I think MaRo kind of needs to shut up since Vorthos isn't his to speak about. He can go on about everything else, but Vorthos wasn't his creation and it's a little insulting for him to dictate what qualifies.

Aw, that was sad. For some reason, I can't help but think this story would make a great animated short. The last conversation in particular, I want to see and hear brought to life.

It makes you wonder why people do escape the underworld. Do they think they'll somehow overcome the loss of memories, or are they just willing to accept whatever fractured version of their former life they can get?

Anyone read today's story of bromanitc love?

Over all it was pretty good. I had hoped that it was going to be a story that started with a young politician in Meletis and a young blacksmith who wanted to be a soldier in Akros, and turned into the story of the two fighting lords who used war as an excuse to get to the negotiating table for some "alone time," but this works too.

Do I even need to say how awesome this was?

Very kind of Erebos to let them be together for eternity.

I was going to point out that it's a p unfortunate trope,

but the author's gay so that makes me just as happy as any representation in the media itself.

Well, it's basically Pyramus and Thisbe on Theros (which I admittedly didn't know until it was pointed out on the other forum.) so it really couldn't end any other way.

I feel like it's a disservice to say the writer was somehow trapped into rewriting the story of Pyramus and Thisbe exactly without any changes except for the changes he could and did make.

I don't think a retelling of Pyramus and Thisbe that preserved their lives makes sense, no, but it's not outside the realm of reason to wonder why all the explicitly gay characters on Theros are dead, especially when it echoes a familiar trope.

To be fair, death on Theros only sucks if you return to the world of the living.

That entry was so good tho.

So bittersweet, the tender (but rather dusty) moments... then the mix up.

THEN EREBOS!? What kind of merciful God of the Dead flawlessness?!

p.s. Loading my Purphoros forged guns to snipe the ignoramus comments over the nets.

Last two stories were both really good. Nice to see some gay characters.

I kind of imagined Kiora to be a little more inscrutable, maybe more like Kruphix, a little more worldly but she reminds me of what I imagine Nissa's voice to be like.

Love the planeswalking by diving deep though.

I like how she didn't disagree with (presumably) Talrand's empassioned speech about drakes because it would be rude to.
Little touches like that go a long way towards characterization.

Also, I feel like Kelly managed to nail down how different a merfolk's world would be in a meaningful way.

Let's also not forget to mention this "Silence", spoken of by Kruphix?
Does this make Kruphix the patron god of announcements?
That one Triton called him the "eldest of the gods". Very interesting.

Well, they do share rather a lot in common...

I'm happy to see that there's a different perspective being presented. I've tried to write something similar in the past, and it really makes you stop and consider how much we take our perspective for granted.

So this explains how "gotta save Zendikar" got easily converted into "make the natives believe I'm a divine being". Neat.

Kiora is a bit more haughty than what I expected, but I do like her occasional quirks, like the afoermentioned being polite thing. Her emphasis on darkness certainly shows where the GUB will come from.

I'm glad to see that my prediction that Kruphix would be the eldest, wisest of the gods was fulfilled. Interesting how he appearently was the one to seperate Nyx from the material world. Makes sense for "the god of horizons".

Well, I guess the earth and the sky birthed the Greek gods and he's kind of both so it makes sense.
I had previously developed the impression that Heliod was the first god though, due to him being top god and having creating Erebus way back when the world was young.
