It's not rational, I know, but then I'm not always that rational, either, and, well, I guess there it is.

But I'm determined to get over my own stupids, however prodigiously stupid they may be, and to make myself known a bit more, even if it's just to remind you all how excellently excellent you all are, and that I love ya. And I like to believe that, sooner or later, the words will get moving again, if only to ward off bedsores. :)
I haven't posted any new material in like a year but I keep popping up anyway. don't worry, you're always welcome.

I can one up that. I haven't posted anything ever and you guys haven't kicked me out. What a bunch of saps.

Good day to you all! Hoping everything's fine, or will be soon.

I've got Healing Path (my latest story) with two chapters finished, I can't decide whether to write a third chapter before the epilogue. Anyone up for lending a hand to a confused writer?

Always!

I can't promise how quickly I'll be able to get back to you at any given time, but I would be happy to be your sounding board. Feel free to shoot me a PM any time you want.

LA ended up being kind of a wash. Our hotel was like an hour away from anything, much further away from Tevish and razorborne, we didn't eat any fish (unless you count takoyaki from a Chinese eatery), and the reason we ostensibly went to LA -- the beach -- we spent maybe half an hour there before leaving.

The night we got there, we went to a bowling alley / arcade, and while I played a bunch of Japanese arcade machines like Gunslinger Stratos, I don't feel like that was something we needed to be in LA for. The second day, we walked around the LA zoo, spending five hours mostly seeing animals asleep in the shade or in their boxes. I'm not a big fan of zoos. From there, we hit Santa Monica beach but didn't even touch the pier and barely spent any time there because it was too cold apparently. I could have stayed for hours. We finished the trip with (some of) the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was solidly awful. Having grown up with George Carlin, I care next to nothing for celebrities, and I both hate crowds and simply walking along a city street.

QUICKEDIT: forgot to mention, we skipped the La Brea tar pits because "they'd been there before".

Having lived right by there for much of my life, can confirm. There are a couple funny entries, like some characters (say "Godzilla") having their own stars but it's just an overcrowded sidewalk. Kind of a cool idea, but not a fun place to visit unless, I don't know, you're really crazy into somebody's work and want to see THAT star, or share your name with a celebrity and want the photo-op of having your own.

Now that's a crying shame

yep. I used to live half a block from the Chinese Theater and let me tell you, when the Walk of Fame is between you and the nearest grocery store it gets old fast.

also sorry things didn't work out. that's the problem with living in the Valley: it's the farthest part in LA from most of LA, which makes actually meeting up with people hard even when they're ostensibly in the same city.

Said store being "Rock & Roll" Ralphs on Sunset?

It seems that in prior years we would have been practically neighbors given the scale of LA. Personally, I find that kind of crazy.

That's pretty much how I felt when I learned where Eid lived back in the day.

I usually went to the Fresh & Easy on Hollywood between Orange and Sycamore, although apparently Fresh and Easy doesn't exist anymore. that Ralph's was a little further, especially when I was coming from school. but I did go there sometimes, and if that was your local store as well then yeah we were probably within walking distance.

God I'm an idiot. Some of you guys live in LA? I'm going to Disneyland April 3 - 11. That's right... in? LA. Is Anaheim part of LA? Anyway, I'm stupid, cause I should have clued in and contacted somebody a while ago for a meetup. Just what part of LA does everybody live in?

Google Maps tells me there's an Ontario in LA. Weird.

yes, Anaheim's in LA, but I live in the exact opposite part of LA from Anaheim. you'd have to come north quite a bit, but I'd definitely be down to meet up if you want to plan something. shoot me a PM and we can discuss, although heads-up it's probably at least an hour drive to even meet in the middle. LA's gross like that.

I'm a little closer to Anaheim, but I'm right next to LAX so it would be really easy to meet up on the way in or out if that;s how you happen to be coming. Otherwise, it'll take a plan, but as with razor shoot me a PM.

I made a thread talking about whether something is appropriate or not, because I had made a story that is somewhat comparable to Tevish Szat's Revel in how twisted it can get. Is there anyone that could guide me on how to handle subject matter like this appropriately?

I just now became aware of the new art for Watchwolf. It makes me exceedingly unhappy. The one I use for an avatar picture is vastly superior, and I will not be changing to the new (not that anyone actually thought I was going to change my avatar... :paranoid: ).

I completely agree. The new one resembles a bewildered Czechoslovakian Wolfdog that just got a bucketful of water in the face.

Brief programming alert -- I'm going to be hopping on a jet plane tomorrow, and, for reasons of mental health maintenance, I'm not planning to bring my computer with me, so I'm going to be well-and-truly incommunicado for a week. So, apologies in advance for anything which piles up between now and then, but I assure you that all will be attended to following what I can only assume will be a quasi-triumphal return. :)

Third degree of agreement.
Degreement.

So there are stories up that I sadly haven't gotten to yet, but I just want to say this since I thought of it... Belzenlok is basically the serious, canon interpretation of our old "Major Ret-Khan" joke.
