Don't play a deck without Cultivate that needs :w::w::w::b::b::r::r::g::g::g: to cast all of its spells?

Lol, there is actually a lot of mana fixing via tri-lands and Satyr Wayfinder.

I have to agree with Hakeem here Lockhammer. A deck like you listed above really should have Cultivates.

First of all it is a four color deck. That alone is somewhat rough to get going without something like Cultivate. While the tri-lands certainly help, they shouldn't be considered a replacement for Cultivate. As you can see in my build above, I use a full set of Cultivates, Wayfinders, and tri-lands and I wouldn't change any of that for anything. As Hakeem said a few posts above, the most important cards are lands. You have to remember too, in a mana heavy deck like this, Cultivate not only helps get the lands you need but ramps you up to get them earlier as well. Especially when running Arbor Colossus and Planar Cleansing.

That being said, I find that 3 Treasured Finds is generally too much. Being a Spider Spawning deck you don't really want to get rid of many creatures so I would recommend getting rid of a couple treasured finds, maybe a resounding thunder, and then drop a single creature in the lone elvish visionary. Regardless of what you do or don't get rid of, I would seriously contemplate adding in the Cultivates.

On another note, for anyone reading this, I'll use this opportunity to shamelessly plug in that I just recently edited my deck list above with the new cards we received a little while back (mainly the new tri-lands).

It's more recursion than SS in how I'm playing it. I'm usually TF Satyrs for the mana fixing. I'm open to suggestions though, so what would you swap?

At the moment, I'm eyeing the Elvish Visionary and two Battledriver for Either Cultivate or Ingots.

Per yall's advice, this is what I got so far. Still trying to keep the recursion theme, but worked in the Cultivates. Testing today to see what it does.

You'll probably be happy with that change Lockhammer.. when we played.. not having a 3rd white/6th land is what lost you the game.

I miss Magic..

You should totally run satyr in that list. I would drop the three wall of omens and 1 of the hydras for the 4 satyrs.

This change also helps with mana consistency as you have more forests than planes. (on top of the fact that satyr helps with mana issues too..)

There is a very similar list somewhere in this thread I believe.

If anything I'd replace the 4 Visionary because the wall seems like the better creature to me. I have only 1 more green source then white sources. The new wedgelands really help fixing your colors.

I used to run the satyre way back but now I prefer the simple draw over getting a land from the top 4 cards.
Drawing also helps with hitting your landdrops. It can draw me into cultivate and sometimes the satyr misses and gets you nothing.

Regardles, I appriciate the feedback so thanks.

I guess you mean Kryder's deck. Yeah, but It's obviously a little dated and he runs some artrfacts that i don't.

I actually use Dead Reckoning instead of Ground Assault as removal and a way of recycling my fats that get put into graveyard through Satyr Wayfinder.
Early blockers are Elvish Visionnary and Satyr Wayfinder. The Satyr is great for mana fixing and invaluable for Dead Reckoning. Other than that it's the standard sweepers and fats.

I've been testing the Dune Ramp style decks, and their losses usually come from poor curve and tempo rather than flooding out or getting mana screwed. If the other guy goes 1-drop, 2-drop, 3-drop, you need anger of the gods or you lose the game. If the enemy has cultivate and you don't their threats start hitting the board 2 turns before yours do.

How do we fix the tempo problems in the deck? We need a cheap, high impact card, even if it's low value.

The card I chose to add was Elvish Pioneer. Yes it's a terrible card, but it does everything we need it to if we have it in our opening hand. It contests more aggressive early creatures and trades well against token style decks. It ramps us into our heavy hitters faster, which makes it equally useful against similar ramp or mid-range decks. The problem is that you need more land or cantrip creatures to make sure you don't ramp into 3 mana and then stall out.

To make room, we need to cut a few threats. If we can't guarantee a constant stream of bombs every game, then we need high value cards that generate massive advantage when we cast them. Griselbrand, Kozilek, and Monomania can all serve that purpose, and Rune-Scarred Demon can tutor them. Here's what I came up with for now:
