better then pacifism, it prevents activates abilities and affects more then just creatures. SBing an active nissa can be a super strong play for example

Anyway, I tried versions with , but they just failed too often on land. And Evolving Wilds is bad because it just slows you down, you don't have time to manafix, you need to get to 4 mana and asap. The guildgates are bad enough, but I only have two. I think the Ravaging Blaze should probably be replaced with Exquisite Firecraft as it's rare you will be above 6 mana ever anyway. But this deck just kills it. Much more consistent than the versions I tried. You basically just get them down under 10, and you should wind up with enough burn to finish them, even if it take you 2 turns to do it since you usually don't have more than 4 mana down anyway.

nimbus wings or Grasp of the Hiromancer feels about the same to me. I went grasp just because it usually lets me get more damage in, or forces blocks on goblin arsonists for ping damage.

Anyway, the goal should be to have nothing cost more than 2 mana (other than burn), and you can pick either or , you can't do both. I went because you need more eventually for your burn package, you only need one per turn mostly.

I'm on the fence with suppression bonds as well, though it has helped out in a few games when there's something awkward to deal with that comes early. I don't think other auras would be better, though more burn might work.

k so some talk in the jeskai thread got me thinking about a valor in akros build but the jeskai version has been done to death so I went with a bit more of an aggressive take on it

@ babassoonist: 22 land seems too greedy there.

Personally i've seen most of the 'pure' builders go all in for akros. This maximises akros, but makes you very weak vs sweepers/fogs. I opted for red with a splash of white instead to have more reach.

Still think izzet thopters is better, but this deck has a few options besides going 'akros or bust'. Imo Flameshadow Conjuring/Dragon may be Ravaging blaze for even more reach. We got 20 only direct creatures, but 6 token spells too. Basically Akros is a bit weaker in this build, but it's not NEEDED to win. It's just good if/when you draw it most of the time.

I'm happy with 6 1 drops (guildgates are 1 drops), but personally I want to fit Runed Servitor in here to up my robot count and 2 drops, but unsure what to cut. Thoughts? -1 dragon - 1 conjuring + 2 Runed Servitor ?

this change was too hasty :/

now for the more solid change instead of tht sleep deprived one earlier

deck needed more 2 drops the +2 abbot -1 titan's strength -1 firecraft

This is the new Boros list i'm trying out and it seems to be doing pretty well! I haven't tested it much yet so i'm open to suggestions as usual, and if you want to test it and let me know how it does that's appreciated as well. The deck seems to just bank off of one or two creatures rather than going wide, so aoe hasn't been that much of a problem unless I overextend.

I think you can drop a land or two.

Chandra isn't needed. I'm skeptical on about Dragon.. but he makes sense here.

Where's Goblin Glory Chaser?

I like Nimbus Wings better than Grasp. Grasp is sick.. but it only removes one blocker per turn. Wings doesn't care about blockers as it soars overhead. Grasp is only better when your team is facing down an Outland Colossus or something that can profitably block you.

I chose to go with 4x grasp for starters because I've been facing a lot of slower decks with bigger blockers like you said, but I do agree that nimbus wings would be really solid too. I couldn't really find room for the Goblin Glory Chaser, because i tried to fit a lot more two drops, and i figured that unless he gets renowned its just a 1/1 that won't really scale too well if the game goes late. I really like the dragon as well because it tops out the curve pretty cleanly, has evasion, and draws you an extra card to dump.

If you see some changes you would make could you tell me the cut's and replacements you're thinking of?
