In New Mexico? It might be okay.
In Texas, forget it. Just leave at that point. Even if it's good it will be triple the cost it should be.
It was trash and overpriced
But... It made you cry?
No, but the steak did.
This is what I hate about road trips. I dont want to eat at a chain restaurant I want to explore the local tastes but it's always so inconsistent. Stopped for steak and eggs in Amarillo. Never had a bad steak in Amarillo, it's like the de facto steak capital of the US. This place had high ratings and was widely recommended. They lost 2 tickets while i was sitting there, both tables of 6+. Took 20 minutes to take our order and the steak was nothing special. The wait staff was apologizing to every guest for one thing or another. Apparently they were trying some new system and it was not going good.
Also, I got threatened with a misdemeanor after only 3 hours in Oklahoma. **** state cant get with the 21st century and doesnt take credit cards on their toll roads (how **** antiquated and quaint, a toll road). So the lady in the booth is like "This is a one time curtesy because it is a misdemeanor to drive on our states toll roads without paying. *as she glares at me* So this is what's going to happen. You're going to take the next exit, go to an ATM and get cash and then give this envelope to the toll booth when you get back on." Then she hands me an envelope with some **** written on it.
The card I am using for this trip does not give cash advances. I set it up that way on purpose. I just took her envelope and smiled. Wadded it up as I drove off.
