Take a gander at my mono white smashing butt in our tournament. Wish Matt was around to give me some **** about the cards in my sideboard. I now regret in a way taking the break from the game and community but I really, really had to. I took a hard look and came to the conclusion that I was drinking way too much beer, sequestering myself in the basement and playing DOTP until all hours instead of giving my children the attention they needed. I know I kind of inspired Matt to start recording his games and eventually streaming them and I wasn't around to catch any of it and that's a damn shame but I know he'd rather have me spending more time with my kids, as we discussed it off forum.
Sigh.
Once again... let's lighten up the mood here.

It really depends on what you want of the client, if you dont care about standard then I would probably draft in the tradicional queue.

If I keep playing, I want to get into Standard more than anything else. What would be the most cost effective way to do that, assuming I am certainly not going to do well in any events.

Do you have any decks already built and what's your collection like?

Also what are you trying to achieve - one solid deck you've already decided on, 4-5 t1 decks as the fancy takes you or do you want all the things and the memes too. And is it this standard format only or keeping some for future sets etc.


As an example: I came into RNA with a couple completed decks and a few decent ones. I've spent something like 12 rare wc (mostly on lands) and 3 mythic and I have a tricked out sultai midrange+sideboard ready to go for bo3, a RDW and an esper control list (that's missing a ton of lands but is passable). Also have 3-4 decks that are a work in progress, where I'm just on the lookout for cards from icr/drafts but not spending wc on. For me that's enough to get going with and I'll top up my collection with quick drafts once they're available.

For pure collection I would say Draft or Sealed but for building deck specific I would say buy packs as that's the way to get wildcards.
