Grover Norquist wants to “make government so small you can drown it in the bathtub “. He popularized the tactic of intentionally sabotaging a government program, claiming the resulting mess meant the program doesn’t work, and proceeding to then try to defund said program. This works remarkably well when paired with constant gridlock; and to this day it is a popular tactic used by small government types to try and hurt programs they don’t like.

There is no equivalent for people who support government programs; because we want and need the programs to actually work. Thus our job is much much harder. One side by definition needs a functioning compromise and the other does not.

Just an interesting tidbit about US politics in the last couple decades.

I know this is off topic for this politics thread, but is it ageist if i ask why all old people are stupid as all hell?

I live in a very rural place, therefore there's one bus a week to civilisation which most of the old people rely on to get things done like pay bills cause they don't know what internet is

This bus holds about 20 people, and i'd say usually about 16-17 of them are 75+, and sadly last week this bus crashed, luckily nobody was seriously injured which was a miracle in itself as some of these folks would get knocked over by a paper bag, but some needed a trip to hospital/or were worse for wear ect ect

Here's why they're dumb - I got on the bus this week and i don't think more then couple were wearing a seatbelt.

They're sitting there, waxing lyrical about how they were thrown around like ragdolls and dodged broken glass by centimetres and were all so lucky but when somebody brought up seatbelts they're all "ooh no seatbelts are uncomfortable, i've heard it's safer to not wear one"

I've never hoped to be on a bus crash until then.

Google the effects of Leaded Gasoline sometime. Then realize we didn’t fully ban it until 1996. We mostly banned it in the 70s and 80s but...

Dark Souls isn’t difficult. You’re more XCOM 2.

anyone try Phoenix Point and what did you think? IMO, it has some decent bones but needs some time for DLCs/Updates to get it near where X-com 2 is at.

The last of us, if you want to watch a good movie while pretending you're playing a game

@barney Most city buses don't, but because this one is going like a 30 mile trip i assume it has to

10 would be nice
I already played: The last of us and Diablo 3 + the expansion.

I don't care for GTA type of games unless they have a solid story like the last of us.

I recently got Batman Arkham Asylum and oh boy that thing is sweet.
That is Hamilton as the Joker?

Buses that cross city limits must have seat belts over here.
@NightHawk there were any more Corona virus cases over there?

For 3d platforming; go with the original trilogy hd rerelease for Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, or Ratchet and Clank.

For 2d platforming; go with the Little Big Planet series.

For beat em up; go with the God of War series.

For adventure games in general try The Last of Us, Infamous 2, and Uncharted 2.

For shooters go with the Killzone series for an exclusive.

For rpgs I don’t have a good exclusive off the top of my head that is a best game on system.

For stealth games Metal Gear Solid series.

That’s it off top of head from a decade ago. I ignored all non Sony exclusives you could get on pc irrc.

The good Mass Effects were not exclusive. I didn’t really care for 1.
