soooooo good. Even better than the first one.

Got a penthouse suite with panoramic view of NYC skyline. Woke up to the sun rising over the city each morning (great picture I got). Did some fine dining and there's this one restaurant, The Chart House, on the Hudson with an insane view of NY and the ambiance in this place is soooo nice. Had a great waiter, wine, everything. Walk back was in 60mph winds and there were iron fences being blown around. Water was coming sideways, it was insane. When we got back to the hotel, we saw there was a tornado warning directing us to the basement. We went up to the room which was dumb cuz it was all glass so it was really dangerous. I had reserved the entire pool for just us two for 45 minutes so we went down and just swam around safely in there, super romantic :)

Great breakfasts and diners in Hoboken too. Lots of long walks. Ben & Jerry's ice cream in a starbucks, just talking for hours.

Was perfect. Can't wait to go back. thanks for asking :)

so, I realized this quote from The Joker fits pretty well right now...

"You know what I noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan"...even if the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow I told the press that, like, a gang-banger will get shot, or a truck load of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all part of the plan. But when I say that one little old mayor will die...[voice rises hysterically] well, then everyone loses their minds!"

Definitely feels like its closing in on us.

A good friend of mina's aunt passed away from COVID a couple days ago.

A guy at work was in contact with someone who tested positive a few days ago. They're letting him back in the building after a negative test

They's closed a few big stores (sams club and albertsons and walmart may be next) here due to workers who tested positive. Apparently spreading information is now called fear mongering,so i've decided to call out those who call it fear mongering asking them what info should be shared.

You can't see this post but I remember at the VERY beginning of this thing in March/April, I was saying that vaccine was 1-2 years away and I got accused of fear mongering on Facebook. "why do you have to always be so pessimistic?!" and I couldn't understand why people didn't want to face reality about this stuff. I can't believe it's still a problem.

A social media post from a nurse went viral recently. It was concerning the stress she is under related to large numbers of patients who denied COVID’s existence even as they were dying from it. People screaming at her to tell them “the truth” right up until they get intubated, just bc they’re in a **** cult, essentially.

Odd question: I cannot see the walls in the Nether in Minecraft during the day (real life room full of sunshine; no glare on screen) but i can see perfectly fine when it’s dark outside my windows and my only light source is a lamp behind me. The colors in question are a mix of reds and browns. Wtf is going on?

Lighting sources have an impact on colors. At my work, print work is viewed for color consistency in viewing booths with very specific bulbs. The guys who do color retouching on their computers have these crazy box shields around their monitors to protect from ambient office lighting - and have all overhead light bulbs pulled and only use desk lamps with very specific bulbs. Seem like the natural lighting hitting your monitor or TV is washing out those colors for you

What kind of tv do you have? LED, OLED, CRT (yeah right), DLP, projector or LCD?

I didn’t know you worked in printing... I used to work in publishing. I was just talking about printable (or more like easy to print) colors earlier today.
