If I remember right, his quotes are based on your performance that month. This doesn’t directly affect your income, but there’s an obvious correlation due to the root causes of poor performance and a worse income over time.

I know he’s been pissed at me on legendary quite a bit.

I just started and I felt I fell behind because I didnt do the first Black Site mission till the third month. I think about 5 people have died and I have a ton in medical. Only have 5 peeps to fill the roster for my next mission. Thought I was falling behind so wanted to check.

The red bar looks way scarier than it is. When it gets full, you get a literal countdown timer to game over instead of losing immediately; so you have a bit more wiggle room than it first seems. Not a ton but still a little extra buffer.

The biggest threats to a campaign are not having enough Resistance Comms and failing too many missions. As long as you can now get to most places and you aren’t failing/skipping too many missions you should still be fine. If you start doing bad that is also completely fine too; bc many people lose their first campaign while learning what to prioritize; and xcom 2 has a hard limit on campaign length anyways so all save files are temporary.

Edit: Being completely honest I would give you a 50/50 shot of getting past a certain story mission on your first attempt. That introduces my most hated enemy in the base game. Not gonna spoil it bc I want to see if you can guess which one lol.

The only things I find odd so far is that the Mutons are harder to hit even though they are bigger and the snakes wear bras, neither of which make any sense to me.

The sectoids are a massive pain in the ass, often suppressing half or 3/4 of my team. Making ded bodys for them seems to make them want to create zombies instead of **** with my team but that isnt always possible. I'm sure that once I have psy troops that'll be less of an issue.

I have a feeling that the shadowy guy is hiding his face because hes an ADVENT and his face is all **** up (do not confirm or deny that).
