This may have been discussed elsewhere, but I didn't find it. In the old days, the Duels client had a bunch of limits - 100tokens of each kind, no more than 2 billion damage from a single spell, max 10.000 life and so on.

Just had an interesting, yet quite prolonged Bo1 match against some token/lifegain/vamp/angel stuff. I play Primal Amulet / Revival//Revenge lifegain silly-deck just for fun, but I'm under pressure, I lose 2 of my wincons and I'm down to casting Revenge. However, he gains so much life, that I can't kill him outright. Long story short, I get to 117.408 life.
He has no counterspells, and I run a single Sanguine Sacrament so I won't deck my self. He finally concedes.

So, has anyone gotten a game in that ended up with silly amounts of life and hit a limit? or created some combo for insane damage? or made more tokens than the client could handle?

[edit] I tried against Sparky , and even though he/she used lifegain, the deck was too weak and he died when I got to 797.xxx life. I had hoped for a few more copies, which would have brought me to 12 million life... but I guess I have to try that in a more controlled environment.... hmmm...

There was that famous Arena video before rotation where a chainwhirler did over one million damage. Done by a ridiculous amount of Doublecast Insults.

Chainwhirler vid is still as amazing as i remember haha

IIRC there was a Vid where someone kept doubling Evra, Halcyon witness power until the game glitched out and started displaying a minus number, think that was way past a million though

Right - so I was bored and I wanted to know for sure.

The game displays your life with a 32bit integer, so it basicly "rolls over" or rather gets out of bounds past 32bits. I created a game against sparky and gained about several billion life.

Once you pass 4.294.967.296 life, it ticks into negative numbers. I've had about -2 billion life, but it's just a displayed number, it doesn't kill you. Further damage doesn't kill you either, the number just ticks the "other way" seeing as it's displayed negatively.

If you double your life, the number becomes more negative I think, it at least looks that way. And once you "double over" -4.294.967.296 life, it goes back to positive. I ended up back on ~200 million life positive.

So - there you have it, if you want the client to start doing funny stuff, just gain enough health. For normal games, stay below 4 billion kids.
