A plane of only insects, where various kinds of insects fill the niches of other creature types on other planes. The Nantuko are semi-established as a race and can take the place of Elves. Obviously, Mosquitos take the place of vampires. Goliath Beetles can take the place of megafauna (assuming they grow to many times their Earth size). What was that world that Illarion Vale and Aria went to? Maybe that one could work.

What other insects could we develop as stand-ins for typical races? Discuss.

:)

I don't think I ever named the plane from "Day Trip". It was insects-only and featured "Mantis men" (Nantuko?) who warred against the "Kingdom of the Ants" in their legends. The local megafauna were called "Baloth Beetles". Nothing else was heavily established.

Ants are creepy as all hell. I've seen the movie Phase IV.

Back when I fancied myself a card designer of sorts, I put together a plane for The Great Designer Search (the second one, I think?) It featured, amongst other things, a humanoid insect race for each of the five colors. I don't actually remember what they were, but I'm pretty sure I had Beetlefolk in . Scarabs, specifically, as it was a desert plane.

:w: could be either bees or ants, while :r: could have wasps/hornets? Moths have a :w: leaning, but their spasmodic research for "enlightment" could also make them :u:, :b: or :g: depending on the perspective.

I'd like to see a were-human. You know, a creature who, on every full moon, has a hideous transformation into human form. I would also like for said creature to be, for instance, an elf. And not a Lorwyn Elk Elf or anything (although their systemic racism would complicate the transformation in an interesting way), but literally someone who's change only involves a rounding of the ears.

I'm currently watching a YouTube let's play of Divinity Original Sin II, where one of the characters got three ability to transform into a bear. The player immediately made the decision that he was a were-dwarf. As in, he wasn't a dwarf who could use magic to turn into a bear, he we a bear who had been cursed into the shape of a dwarf and could use magic to temporarily regain his true form. It gets quite entertaining.

FWIW, here are my notes on the plane from that story:
Unnamed plane
• has no native animal life beyond insects, which have filled every ecological niche
• Upper Jungle (seemingly on a plateau, possibly planar-wide)
• Has baloth beetles in Upper Jungle: huge beetles which can enter a blind rage
• intelligent beetle race inhabits Upper Jungle
• Lower Jungle
• Intelligent mantis race inhabits Lower Jungle
• Implied that intelligent ant race inhabits Lower Jungle in a monarchic society
• Mantis race has gone to war with "ant kingdoms" in the past

Also I have to question whether arachnids would be allowed under this classification? Because I would totally make a :u: spider race based off of Diving Bell Spiders (AKA Water Spiders).

Also Bombadier Beetles totally belong in :r:. Just saying.

I've wanted to see more done with arthropods for a while now.
insects? Heck yeah. You got your defensive beetles, your orderly ants, your... actually in an all animal plane, bugs just don't seem much greener than everything else.
Ants could be militaristic monarchists.
Spiders are plot spinners, ambush assassins and I guess anti-flying is in green, so they're . The blue is help by the flying and swimming spiders. Black can have trap door spiders and those ones that pretend to be ants and sneak into nests.

Jade, despondent over her condition, wishes she could just go back and warn herself not to take Raiker's deal. Sadly, without her knowing it, Raiker overhears this, and sends her back in time to speak with herself. Without knowing where - or when - she is, she finally encounters herself as an infant, too young to understand her own warning.

Jade can't believe it, and her reaction, of course, is "You've got to be kitten me!"

Also because she couldn't remember being so fond of cheeseburgers.

Had this idea, kinda like it

A tiny tiny Rogue plane that actually manifests on other worlds it bumps into.
It's only slightly bigger than a very small continent and just... appears on worlds

Well, that explains what happened to Atlantis and/or Mu. I like the idea, but just imagine what would happen to sea levels when and if it manifests in the ocean. Of course, any overlay is bound to be ecologically devastating, so I suppose it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Does it exist independently, or does it need to borrow reality from the planes it contacts? I'm not sure which is more interesting.

Edit- I have for some time wanted a Zhalfir set which is set on a displaced subplane...

Honestly, I was kind of thinking floating continent. Because... y'know floating continent.

That said, I like the idea of it moving on and kinda taking chunks of the surroundings with it each time

A bit of both, perhaps?

Oh my god I just realized the pun you made. Did you intend that?

He made a rogue plane that's a rogue plane.

i.e. a plane that's not fixed in location (like a rogue planet) that steals from other planes (like a rogue would in D&D).

I actually thought you were referring to Rogue of the Xmen.

I'd love to see a planeswalker whose magic relies solely on complex magical rituals. Everything, including their planeswalking. I don't know if this character would be angry at other 'walkers, thinking they were cheapening the action of 'walking, or just insanely jealous, but either way, this 'walker can't just 'walk, but needs to work at it.

They say that you can't believe everything you read. Well, that's not the case on the plane of Lillegub. There is no greater sin, no greater crime, no more unthinkable action on that plane than to write down a falsehood. Writing there is considered the greatest, godliest art, and anything written must be true.

What would it be like, I wonder, for someone from that plane to become a planeswalker, and to arrive to a plane where there was no such custom?

What would it be like, I wonder, for another planeswalker to arrive there?
